Leni camp scores Mocha for dragging veep into pregnancy rumor

The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo scored model-turned-public official Mocha Uson Friday for dragging the name of the second highest official in the country to another controversy.

OVP spokesperson Atty. Barry Gutierrez

“Huwag nga niya kaming idamay sa kalokohan niya (Leave us out of your nonsense),” OVP spokesperson Atty. Barry Gutierrez said as a response to Uson's remarks against Robredo.

In the twisted turn of events, Uson – who has been accused of peddling fake news – is claiming that she is being a target of gossip and disinformation, following rumors circulating on social media that she is pregnant with actor Robin Padilla’s child.

The deputy executive director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) denied this in an Instagram post which had a video of her exercising.

Uson said: “BUNTIS DAW AKO KAY ROBIN?”

Uson alleged that the supporters of Robredo are the ones responsible for the rumors because the VP ranked low according to the results of a recent survey.

In December, a survey of Pulse Asia Research Inc. showed around a quarter of Filipino adults or 26 percent would support a probable presidential bid by Davao City Mayor and Presidential daughter Sara Duterte while Robredo got eight percent.

Robredo’s camp dismissed the results of the survey, noting that “it is too early” to think about the upcoming elections.

Instead of getting worked up on the election survey results, Robredo has been busying herself with various initiatives to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, they said.
