BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested a 50-year-old man for firing a gun outside a convenience store here last Wednesday.
Police Regional Office 13 (Caraga) director Police Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat identified the suspect as Noel T. Salvador of Purok 5, Silad, Barangay Mahogany, this city.
The Butuan Police Station 1 arrested Salvador who was under the influence of liquor when he discharged his firearm in front of the convenience store on North Montilla Boulevard corner Rosales St., Barangay San Ignacio.
“The suspect was carrying a gun and fired it once causing alarm and danger,” Caramat said.
Recovered from the suspect was a .45 caliber pistol with two magazines and 15 bullets. An empty shell was recovered in the area.
No one was reported hurt during the incident.
“The suspect will be facing charges for Alarm and Scandal and violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act,” Caramat said.
