Davao City records 75 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths


DAVAO CITY - Davao City has recorded 75 new coronavirus disease cases on Wednesday (Jan. 20).

Based on the Regional Daily Case Bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development, Davao region has recorded a total of 158 new cases of COVID-19.

The DOH said of these new cases, "75 are from Davao City, 53 are from Davao del Norte, 11 are from Davao de Oro, 9 are from Davao del Sur, seven are from Davao Oriental, and three are from Davao Occidental."

Currently, the region's total number of recorded COVID-19 cases is at 15,459 with 2,517 remaining active cases.

Based on the record, Davao City has recorded a total of 10,597 cases including 1,465 active cases.

There were also five deaths reported in the region on Wednesday. The DOH said these included three fatalities from Davao City, one from Davao Occidental, and one from Davao Oriental.

Davao City has recorded a total of 491 deaths due to COVID-19. The region's total number of fatalities is at 620.

Meanwhile, the DOH said, there were 212 recoveries reported in the region, including 117 from Davao del Norte, 73 from Davao City, 21 from Davao del Sur, and one from Davao Oriental. The region has recorded a total of 12,322 recoveries, of which 8,641 are from Davao City.
