BACOLOD CITY – Two teenagers were killed in a road collision in Barangay 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental Wednesday.
Police withheld the names of the male victims aged 13 and 15, both residents of Barangay 20.
Police Lt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz, city police chief, said the victims were riding a motorcycle when they overtook a vehicle and crashed into a six-wheel truck driven by Vergil Susana, 26, of Talisay City.
Corpuz said the motorcycle was allegedly speeding when it swerved to the truck’s lane, causing both victims to be thrown off from their vehicle.
The victims sustained head injuries and were declared dead in a hospital.
Corpuz said the victims were not wearing helmets and they didn’t have driver’s licenses.
He said Susana was released from police custody later that day after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary detention.
