DFA tally: 14 new COVID-19 cases, 2 recoveries


Fourteen new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and two new recoveries among Filipinos in Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa were recorded in the latest tally of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

As of January 19, 2021, the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections involving overseas Filipinos is 13,605. 

Meanwhile, no new COVID-19 fatality was reported.

Out of the total confirmed cases, 8,684 have already recovered or have been released from various hospitals abroad while 3,980 are still undergoing treatment. Since the outbreak began in February 2020, a total of 941 overseas Filipinos succumbed to coronavirus.

To date, the Middle East and Africa remain to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, recoveries, under treatment, and fatalities among our nationals. 

The Americas have the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of deaths, wherein Asia and the Pacific rank lowest with a total of only 21.
