Loewe's 'My Neighbor Totoro' collection celebrates the wonder of the cult classic film

We need more Studio Ghibli-inspired fashion

If there is one thing on top of wonderful escapism art forms, that slot is reserved for animation. Its joy-filled reels, characters that are straight from a child's imagination, and feel-good plot make a sure antidote for the blues we are feeling right now.

Imbiding the same spirit in fashion is luxury brand Loewe as it join forces with director Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli with a collection inspired by the classic film My Neighbor Totoro

"The connection between Loewe and Studio Ghibli is this mutual love of craft and artisanal techniques, expressed in our respective languages," says creative director Jonathan Anderson. "The message is one of dreamy serenity and hands-on creativity—of being at one with nature and with one’s own inner child—which is especially important right now and, I think, always will be."

The 62-piece collection embodies the 1988 masterpiece's childlike sensibilities by featuring the adorable, giant bunny Totoro, the young girls Satsuki and Mei, and the film's iconic landscape in bags, ready-to-wear pieces, and accessories.

Now, this is the kind of fantasy and escape we need.

The Loewe x My Neighbor Totoro collection is now available at the brand's  online store.
