Sto. Niño de Tondo faithfuls urged to attend online mass instead


The Archdiocesan Shrine of Santo Niño de Tondo Manila on Tuesday urged the faithful to attend online mass instead to commemorate the feast of Santo Niño in Tondo.

"Tayo ay nasa panahon ng pandemya kaya naman ang ating pagdiriwang at tradisyon ng Kapistahan ay malaki ang pagbabago sa nakasanayan na natin (We are currently in the middle of a pandemic and it drastically change our celebration and tradition of the Feast of Santo Niño)," read the statement released Tuesday (Jan. 12).

"Hangad natin ang kabutihan ng lahat, tayo ay kaisa ng ating pamahalaan upang sugpuin at huwag nang kumalat pa ang virus na COVID-19 (We want to assure the welfare of everyone and we are one with the government in preventing the spread of COVID-19)," it further read.

Masses may be live-streamed through Facebook.

Meanwhile, churchgoers who will attend physical masses at the parish are reminded to wear face masks and face shields.
