Rabiya Mateo to help conquer malnutrition among Filipino kids



Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo has been appointed member of the Ethics Committee of the Infant & Pediatric Nutrition Association of the Philippines (IPNAP).

Mateo broke the news on Instagram on January 13.

"My duty is to focus on participating in discussions revolving around the implementation of the Milk Code of the Philippines," Mateo said.

The beauty queen said that she is proud to be the voice of women and the youth in this new endeavor.


"Beauty queens are more than a pretty face. We are catalysts of change and, more importantly, we are women of action," she said.

"This 2021, I promised myself to do greater things for the people around me and for my country. I am not scared to try new things; to learn and absorb knowledge, have a better understanding of the universe, and to do things beyond expectations.

"I am happy to announce that I am now part of the Ethics Committee of the Infant & Pediatric Nutrition Association of the Philippines (IPNAP). My duty is to focus on participating in discussions revolving implementation of the Milk Code of the Philippines.

"IPNAP is an NGO that was established in 2008. It aims to address the problem of malnutrition among Filipino children through programs such as School-based Nutrition Assistance Program(SNAP); Partnership and Capacity Programs(PCDP); Public Policy Participation; and Advocacy and Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (SIEP).
