Easy, safe, and fast way to adopt a dog

Despite strict quarantine measures and the negative impact of the pandemic on finances, animal shelters are still doing their best to keep animals safe and sound.

So if you have enough time and resources to take in a pet, why not consider a rescued animal? Cebu-based animal shelter Island Rescue Organization has made it easier to place applications through an adoption drive—so you don’t have to worry about your exposure to coronavirus.

Just visit their booth at Parkmall in Mandaue City every second and fourth Saturday of the month to fill up an application form. And once you pass the initial interview, you will be required to pay at least P350 pesos for vaccination.

For people who are unable to adopt or donate, but have enough time to support animal welfare causes, consider volunteering for local animal welfare groups. It doesn’t hurt to reach out to your nearby shelters and see how you can help from your home, or help boost their calls for donations or adoptions.
