Despite the Department of Health (DOH) insisting the new COVID variant is yet to reach the country, former TV host Kiko Rustia is only too eager to announce otherwise.
Taking to social media, the former host of GMA7's "Born To Be Wild" sounded the alarm: "IT IS HERE."
He related one of his friends was confined in the ICU because of it but didn't add details.
Now, Kiko is no doctor.
He may mean well but his announcement is disturbing to say the least.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the new strain is more infectious than the first corona virus.
“Based on these mutations, this variant strain has been predicted to potentially be more rapidly transmissible than other circulating strains of SARS-CoV-2,” it said.
