Mayor Sara Duterte said they allowed the opening of the facility for patients, who can afford to pay for quarantine services, and who do not want to be admitted to a government facility.

“It means that those patients nga dili gusto moadto didtoa sa atoang mga TTMF for whatever reason, naa silay option nga moadto ani nga facility and magbayad sila for the quarantine (It means that those patients who do not want to go to our TTMFs for whatever reason, they have an option to go to this facility and pay for the quarantine),” Duterte said in a broadcast on Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday.

The said TTMF has a capacity of 29 beds with in-room toilets. It offers a package inclusive of 10 days quarantine and meals. Medical staff will also be available to monitor the patient.

Duterte said the city government decided to have a paid TTMF as some patients do not want to be placed under quarantine in a facility chosen for them according to their health status.

“The reason why naa tay paid TTMF is because daghan na ta og na-encounter na mga pasyente nga magpili. So karon na naa tay paid nga TTMF or facility kung gi-assign ka sa doctor as mild or asymptomatic nga patient unya dili ka gusto moadto sa atoang mga TTMF, then they can opt for the hotel and pay (The reason why we have a paid TTMF because we have encountered picky patients. So we already have a TTMF or facility if you are assigned by the doctor as a mild or asymptomatic patient and then you do not want to go to our TTMF, then they can opt for the hotel and pay),” she said.

Currently, the city government’s isolation facilities for probable and suspect cases have a total of 2,194-bed capacity.
