Filipino bets Smart Omega and Cignal Ultra cruised to a winning start in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC)-Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier Stage 2 after sweeping their respective foes on Friday.

Eager to enter the Regional League lower division, Omega decimated Malaysian squad Assault, 2-0, while Cignal crushed Indonesian side Prime, 2-0.

Captain-support Marvin "Boombacs" Rushton made a heroic play with his Grimstroke in Game 1 as he hit his Ethereal Blade on Assault's Phantom Assassin to save carry Justine Ryan "Tino" Grimaldo's Arc Warden in the final clash.

Tino went on to deal massive damage for Omega to complete a five-man wipe and seal the 37-32 win in 48 minutes.

Tino sustained his stellar showing with the infamous carry Io but it was midlaner Mc Nicholson "Mac" Villanueva who shone the brightest with his Death Prophet in the one-sided Game 2.

Mac racked up 17 kills and 13 assists against three deaths while Tino, who secured an Aghanim's Scepter just 14 minutes into the game, chipped in seven kills and 15 assists against a lone death in the 34-minute 38-20 romp.

On the other hand, Cignal leaned on 10k MMR carry Denz Daryll "Abat" Anedez's monstrous Phantom Assassin in two games versus Prime.

Abat amassed an 18-5-4 kill-death-assist record in the slim 30-29 victory in the series opener that lasted for 42 minutes then put up another impressive record of 19-2-13 in a 35-minute 34-20 stomp in the clincher.

Cignal continues its campaign against Veteran and HOYO while Omega takes on Army Geniuses and ZeroTwo led by Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky on Saturday.

After falling short in the Closed Qualifier Stage 1 where the top four finishers advanced to the upper division, the two PH teams are now vying for their seats in the eight-team lower division against 10 other squads in the region.
