Alaska is scheduled to meet gwith Vic Manuel Friday nigh to discuss possible options following the muscular forward’s demand for a trade.

Team governor Dickie Bachmann said management is hoping to get things clear with Manuel, who expressed his desire to leave after six seasons with the Aces.

“We need to find out if the demand is coming from the agent of Vic,” Bachmann told the Manila Bulletin in a text message. “We will be meeting him tonight (Friday) to discuss.”

Manuel made his trade demands known through a Spin.ph story, saying that he felt dismayed over the Aces offer of a one-year contract extension during a talk with his agent Danny Espiritu.

But Bachmann said that Alaska is actually willing to give more.

“So far, we offered him a two-year deal with a clause and we are waiting for the agent of Vic to get back to us,” said Bachmann.

The Aces could only hope that the situation can be resolved in order to keep one of their main players in time for the 46th season.

Manuel averaged 15.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 12 games during the recent PBA Philippine Cup bubble at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center in Pampanga.

Alaska went 7-4 for sixth place in the standings before being eliminated by eventual runner-up TNT in the quarterfinals.
