Diether Ocampo now also a writer?

Is Diether Ocampo aiming to be a jack-of-all-trades?

This was the question asked by some netizens when the 47-year-old former actor was credited as translator of the children's book "Maya at Ang Matapat Niyang Mga Kaibigan (Maya and Her Loyal Friends)."

In a Facebook post, the series’ art director and publishing consultant, Aaron JP Almadro, explained how Diether got involved in the project, noting how he also did the English-Filipino translations for their first book, which was written by Dr. Bernadette Mondejar-Schlueter and illustrated by Ed Rompal.

"Trivia: Worked with Diether a looong time ago when I was still with ABS-CBN Publishing. Not as a model or subject, but as photographer for one of our fashion editorials in Metro hiM. Yes, he likes to dabble in different stuff. Apparently, he's into writing now," he said.

Two years ago, Diether also made the news joining the ranks of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) as a Lieutenant Commander.
