BTS’ Jungkook buys $7-million house in upscale Itaewon in Seoul: report


BTS’ Jungkook (Big Hit) 

Jungkook, member of K-pop royalty BTS, bought a house in the upscale and popular area of Itaewon in Yongsan, Seoul for 7.6 billion won (about $7 million). 

Korean media reported that the 23-year-old singer purchased the single detached house last November that was originally built in 1976 and has a total floor area of 230.74 sq. m. and land area of 637 sq.m. or equivalent to $10,989 per sq. m. 

The house is located in a diplomatic district in Itaewon, which is a popular residential area for wealthy residents and foreign diplomats. It is a 10-minute drive from BTS’ residence at the pricey Hannam The Hill in Hannam in Yongsan, touted as the most expensive area to live in Seoul. 

Jungkook bought the house after unloading his Seoul Forest Trimage apartment in Seongdong, Seoul which he bought in October. 2018 for 1.95 billion won ($1.8 billion). He sold the 69.72 sq. m. apartment in October 2010 for 2.05 billion won ($1.89 million), gaining a profit of 100 million won ($92,000). 

In March 2020, Korean media reported that BTS leader RM bought a 284.21 sq. m. apartment for $4 million at Hannam The Hill in November 2019. 

In December 2017, BTS moved to Hannam The Hill to be used as their dorm under a lease agreement. Suga was previously reported to have bought a 3.4 billion won ($3.14 million) unit with an area of 526.26 sq. m. at Hannam River Hill at UN Village in Seoul in August 2018.
