Toni Gonzaga-Soriano tells public to stop bashing PBB evictee who earlier supported ABS-CBN shutdown

Toni Gonzaga-Soriano appealed to the public to stop bashing and forgive a Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) evictee who earlier supported the ABS-CBN shutdown.

On Sunday, Jan. 3, Russu Laurente (Ang Bunsong Boksingero ng General Santos) was evicted from the PBB house after he received more votes to be evicted than to be saved. He received 4.39 percent of combined Kumu and text votes during an episode of "PBB: Connect."

But it seems that Kapamilya fans have not forgiven Laurente after they continued to bash him for his earlier tweets and opinions that made the rounds of social media when he supported the ABS-CBN shutdown in 2020.

Gonzaga asked the public to forgive Laurente.

"I hugged the boy after the show and he kept apologizing. Forgiveness is a gift everyone deserves," said Gonzaga on Instagram.

Toni's full post:

"Back to work this 2021. For our 2nd eviction night housemate Russu was evicted because of a mistake he did that eventually made him realize the damage it has done.

"People are very quick to judge him, call him names and crucify him on social media because of it without realizing that at 19 years old, he doesn’t know the gravity of words spoken. He has learned his lesson and this will help him grow and mature in life.

"And now that he knows better, He will do better. May this also serve as a reminder for us to not define and label a person by the mistakes they’ve committed but from how they rise up, rebuild and become a better person they are really supposed to be.
