SARIAYA, Quezon – Driven by extreme jealousy, a farmer stabbed dead his live-in partner here only to be shot dead, himself, by the brother of his victim in Barangay Manggalang 1 on Saturday, January 2.
Police identified the stab victim as Leilanie Montejo, 37, who was killed by her partner Aldwin Bacaro, 39. Both were from Sitio Duluhan, Barangay Manggalang.
Montejo sustained multiple stab wounds in different parts of the body, and died at the San Juan Doctor’s Hospital in San Juan, Batangas.
A police report showed that, at around 3:40 a.m., the suspect stabbed Montejo with a fan knife, or “balisong”, after he apparently he got jealous of the presence of the victim’s family.
And just when he was attacking Montejo, her brother Emerson Roño could not bear the sight of Bacaro stabbing his sister, and shot the suspect with a .45-caliber pistol in the head.
Roño voluntarily surrendered to the Sariaya Police.
