Pangasinan Provincial Hospital San Carlos City staff informed the Calasiao police that a patient named Jerwin Casipit, 21, and a resident of Brgy. Lumbang, Calasiao was brought there due to a gunshot wound in the right leg.

Police investigators found that, at around 10 p.m. on January 2, the victim went to a junk shop in Barangay Doyong to fetch his brother-in-law.

But instead of going home immediately, he was drawn to join a drinking session with the junk shop owner Arnold Go.

Go later brought out a gun and removed its magazine, but it suddenly went off, hitting Casipit in the right leg.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where the slug was recovered from his leg during surgery.

Go was apprehended by the police in a follow up operation. He subsequently admitted that he had no license to possess the firearm.
