CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS CITY, Cavite---A policeman reportedly died on Tuesday (July 7) when the motorcycle he was driving accidentally hit a center island on Daanghari Road in Barangay Pasong Buaya, Imus City.

The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported that Patrolman Val Jonrie Giray Rosario succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Medical Center in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

Rosario was driving a Honda 400cc motorcycle with plate UB 7036 and was traveling along a curved portion of the road when the accident happened at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday.

The policeman was reported thrown from his motorcycle after hitting the center island. A spot report showed that the hit occurred after he lost control of the steering bar handle.

The victim was brought by the Imus Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the hospital where he reportedly died at 5:45 p.m.

There were no other details pertaining to the accident and the policeman in the PPO's initial report.

The policeman was one of the four latest victims of motorcycle “self-accidents” in Cavite province.

The three other fatal “self-accidents”-- one also in Imus and the two others in Dasmariñas City--reportedly occurred also this month.

“Self-accident” is a police term for self-incurred mishap or tragedy caused by one's self.
