PALO, Leyte – A woman delivered her baby inside a police car in Naval, Biliran, a report from the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8), based in Camp Ruperto Kangleon here, said on Thursday, December 31.
PRO8 Regional Information Officer Lt. Col. Ma. Bella Rentuaya told The Manila Bulletin that a baby boy was delivered inside a police patrol car of the Biliran Police Provincial Office (PPO) that was based in Barangay Larrazabal, Naval, Biliran.
Rentuaya reported that the Biliran Mobile Force Platoon personnel helped deliver the baby on December 29, 2020 at around 3:15 p.m. in Bulalacao, Kawayan, Biliran.
She said that, at around 3 p.m. on December 29, Barangay Ungale 1 Chairperson Rolly Culibra sought assistance from the Biliran Mobile Force Platoon that was based in Madao, Kawayan, to help transport a pregnant woman, who had already gone into labor.
“Without wasting any time, police officer Presco Diaz Adorable, under the supervision of P/ Lt. Sammy A. Panning, immediately responded and fetched the expectant mother and husband in Barangay Ungale 1.
And it was while they were on their way to the Kawayan Rural Health Unit (RHU) that the husband reportedly saw the head of the baby coming out.
This left the Adorable with no choice but to help deliver the baby of Maria Fe Agustin right inside the patrol car.
Agustin was later brought to the Kawayan RHU for further medical attention.
Biliran Police Director Col. Julius M. Coyme commended Adorable for the immediate response he gave in helping the Agustins.
