Active COVID-19 cases down to 50 in Cebu province


CEBU CITY--The number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the province of Cebu has gone down to 50.

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported that 14 of the COVID-19 patients were in hospitals, while the 36 others were isolated in quarantine facilities.

As of December 28, the province has recorded 6,957 COVID-19 cases, but 6,495 patients have already recovered for a 93.4 percent recovery rate.

Dr. Christina Giango, head of PHO, reported that 32 towns and two component cities no longer have active COVID-19 cases.

The COVID-19-free local government units (LGUs) in the province included Bogo City, Carcar City, Alcoy, Alegria, Aloguinsan, Asturias, Bantayan, Barili, Boljoon, Borbon, Carmen, Catmon, Compostela, Daanbantayan, Dumanjug, Ginatilan, Dalaguete, Madridejos, Malabuyoc, Medellin, Moalboal, Oslob, Pilar, Poro, Samboan, San Fernando, San Francisco, Sante Fe, Santander, Sogod, Tabogon, Tabuelan and Tudela.

The province has 50 LGUs composed of 44 towns and six component cities.
