Spokesperson Ibarra Gutierrez said Robredo has “neither been vaccinated nor has an offer to do so been made.”

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) was asked if Robredo was vaccinated following the inoculation of some military men and Cabinet officials against COVID-19.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) confirmed that the soldiers belonged to the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

President Duterte bared last Saturday some members of the military have already received doses of China’s Sinopharm, but the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has yet to approve the vaccine.

The Sinopharm vaccine is not in the initial list of vaccines that the Philippines is eyeing, among which are Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Moderna, and another Chinese vaccine Sinovac.

But in many countries, over a million people have already taken Sinopharm in emergency use.

It is an experimental vaccine developed by state-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group, and has been approved in other countries such as Bahrain.

In Peru, clinical trials were temporarily suspended after neurological problems were detected in one of the test volunteers.
