Former San Beda stalwart Sudan Daniel passed away Saturday after an asthma attack while in Calatagan, Batangas.

He was 33.

Frankie Lim, a former Red Lions mentor who recruited the American back in 2009, confirmed to Manila Bulletin the passing of the 6-foot-7 Daniel.

“It’s sad that it happened,” said Lim.

Daniel was a force to reckon with during his time with the Mendiola-based team, which he powered to the NCAA title in 2010 through a historic 18-0 record.

During the 86th Season of the NCAA, he also bagged the regular season MVP and Finals MVP.

Daniel has found a home in the country as he worked here, initially as an executive with Titan before joining the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3 as host of the tournaments the previous two years.
