Singer Lizzo knows how to bring holiday joy, surprising her mother with a new car.
On Instagram, she posted the joyous unveiling, writing, “Got my mommy a brand new Audi for Christmas. I remember crying in my car when my daddy passed, no job, no money, nowhere to live, wishing I could one day provide for my family. I couldn't do it for my dad so I'll make sure I spoil mama.”
“Merry Christmas mommy, open your eyes!” Lizzo exclaimed as her mother, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, was led outside to find the black SUV in the driveway with a big red bow on it.
Johnson-Jefferson then broke down into happy tears when she opened her eyes. “You see these things on television but you never expect these things to happen to yourself!” Johnson-Jefferson said.
The 32-year-old pop star won several Grammys at last year's awards, including Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.
