‘Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss’ to compete in Sundance Film Festival


Cinemalaya 2020 film “Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss” is set to compete at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival in the United States.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and Cinemalaya congratulated the film’s production team for being part of the International Fiction Shorts Official Selection of the 43rd Sundance Film Festival.

Directed by Sonny Calvento, “Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss” is a social satire about the plight of contractual workers in the Philippines.

The comedy film follows the story of Vangie, a miserable contractual sales lady, who is about to lose her job. However, in her desperate attempt to convince her boss not to dismiss her, she uncovers the ultimate secret to regularization.

It stars Angelina Kanapi, Bob Jbeili, and Phyllis Grande, among others.

The Sundance Film Festival is an environment where bold, creative, and distinctive voices are celebrated, according to its website. The festival is set to run from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3, 2021.
