Actress Kim Hee-ae and actors Park Bogum, Hyun Bin and Park Seo-joon have been chosen as the Korean TV stars who shined in 2020.
After releasing the top film stars for the year, Gallup Korea has unveiled the list of Korean TV stars who shined in 2020 based on a survey of 1,700 people in the country aged 13 and above that was done from Nov. 5 to 29.
Kim Hee-ae, star of the hit drama “The World of the Married,” took the top spot with 9.4 percent. “The World of the Married,” which aired from March to May this year, became the highest rated drama on cable TV in South Korea with 28.37 percent.
Park Bogum placed second with 7.6 percent. He starred in “Record of Youth,” which was his last drama project before enlisting in the military on Aug. 31 this year.
Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, who led the “Crash Landing on You” drama, placed third and fifth, respectively, in the survey. Hyun Bin got 6.5 percent while Son Ye-jin received 4.6 percent. “Crash Landing on You” placed third in the all-time highest rated Korean dramas on cable TV in Korea.
In fourth place is Park Seo-joon of “Itaewon Class,” which is the seventh top-rated K-drama on cable TV.
Bae Suzy, star of “Start-up,” grabbed sixth place with 4.3 percent while veteran actress Jeon In-hwa of “Homemade Love Story” is in seventh place with 4.1 percent.
Gong Yoo of “Goblin” and Cha Hwa-yeon, a veteran actress and star of “Once Again,” tied for eight place with 3.2 percent each. Gong Yoo earlier placed sixth with 5.9 percent in the Gallup Korea survey of top film stars of 2020.
Gong Hyo-jin, whose last drama was “When the Camellia Blooms” in 2019, ranked tenth with 3 percent. Gallup Korea noted that Gong Hyo-jin placed in the top 10 even though she didn’t have new dramas in 2020. In the same survey last year, Gong Hyo-jin placed first with 12.4 percent followed by “When the Camellia Blooms” co-stars Kang Ha-neul with 12 percent and Go Doo-shim with 7 percent.
Other TV stars who figured in the 2020 survey of top Korean TV stars are Kim Soo-hyun and Jo Jung-suk, 2.8 percent; veteran actor Cheon Ho-jin, 2.5 percent; Lee Min-jung, Choi Bool-am, 2.2 percent; Kim Hye-soo and Kang Haneul, 2 percent; and Lee Sangyeob and Go Doo-shim, 1.8 percent.
Lee Dong-wook got six percent 1.6 percent followed by Kim Seon-ho, Jeong Bo-seok and Han Suk-kyu, 1.5 percent; Kwon Sang-woo, 1.4 percent; Kim Hee-sun, Hae-sook, Lee Yoo-ri and Kim Hye-ja, 1.3 percent; Seo Ye-ji, 1.2 percent; Nam Joo-hyuk, 1.1 percent; and Jung Hae-in, Go Ara, Yoo Ah-in and Cho Seung-woo, 1 percent.
