These Filipino films will be up for streaming on Netflix this December

Better mark Dec. 20 on your calendars!

Apart from the unlimited feasting and gift giving, December in the Philippines is also a month celebrating Filipino-made movies.

While its prime film festival, the Metro Manila Film Festival, will go virtual to keep its annual tradition of offering Philippine film during the holidays alive, other entertainment streaming platforms such as Netflix will also be bringing local cinema cheer to its Pinoy users.

Noted Filipino filmmaker Erik Matti expressed his joy through a Facebook post about Netflix’s inclusion of four new Filipino films.

“We are proud of the four Filipino films that are launching on Netflix this December,” the director posted. “We are happy that now, this Christmas, the Filipino audience will get to see these films I consider to be modern classics. It feels really good to bring these diverse films for everyone's enjoyment.”

Get your alarms ready as these films will be available for streaming starting Dec. 20.
