Esports and sports take center stage as MPL-Philippines runner-up Smart Omega and 12 athletes play in a series of exhibition Mobile Legends: Bang Bang games dubbed as Omega Crossover on December 14 to 16.
Among the sports personalities set to take part in the friendly matches are collegiate basketball standouts Dave Ildefonso and SJ Belangel of Ateneo, Shaun Ildefonso and Chino Mosqueda of National U, Kevin Quiambao and Emman Galman of La Salle and Kemark Cariño and Joshua Tagala of San Beda.
Also joining the event are volleyball stars from PLDT Home Fibr namely John Vic De Guzman, Joshua Umandal, Mark Alfafara and Richard Solis.
Representing Omega are SEA Games gold medalists Jeniel "Haze" Bata-anon and Kenneth "Kenji" Villa, Adrian "Toshi" Bacallo, Earvin "Heath" Esperanza, Salic "Hadjizy" Imam, Jankurt "KurTzy" Matira, Anthony "Otit" Senedrin and coach Steven "Daledalus" Vitug.
"We want to showcase that everyone can be a gamer no matter what sport you play. We also want to show how mobile gaming can bring everyone together," said Omega team manager Miko Cuartero.
The three-day event will be aired over at Omega Esports' official Facebook page, with games scheduled at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The athletes will go live at Omega's state-of-the-art hub in Quezon City on December 15.
Teams will be picked at random and will be composed of two Omega players, two basketball athletes and a volleyball standout.
This will serve as a great warm-up for Omega before it begins its training for the MLBB World Championship (M2) next month in Singapore and a breather as well for the Smart-backed pros who are competing in The Nationals Season Two.
