Netflix to premiere live-action series of 'Winx Club'


Netflix is bringing the live-action of Nickelodeon's "Winx Club."

Titled "Fate: The Winx Saga," the coming-of-age series will follow the journey of Bloom, Stella, Musa, Aisha, and Terra as they attend Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their power while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their existence.

Its first season will consist of six episodes.

The cast consists of Abigail Cowen (Bloom), Hannah van der Westhuysen (Stella), Precious Mustapha (Aisha), Eliot Salt (Terra), Elisha Applebaum (Musa), Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp, Danny Griffin, Theo Graham, Jacob Dudman, Eve Best, Robert James-Collier, Josh Cowdery, Alex Macqueen, and Eva Birthistle.

"Vampire Diaries" creator Brian Young is behind the reimagining of Iginio Straffi's Italian cartoon series.

Straffi's "Winx Club" first premiered in 2004.

"Fate: The Winx Saga" premieres on  Netflix on January 22, 2021.
