Bren Esports and Smart Omega are set to duke it out against the best teams across the globe in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M2 World Championship in Singapore next month.

Bren and Omega secured direct invites from Moonton after finishing as the champion and runner-up, respectively, in the MPL-Philippines Season 6.

The two Filipino teams will battle 10 other squads from eight countries for the right to become the new world champion as M1 winner EVOS Legends of Indonesia failed to get an invite.

Bren is expected to be a strong contender after winding up as runner-up to Indonesia's Alter Ego Esports in the recently concluded ONE Esports Invitational.

Alter Ego will also take part in M2 along with reigning Indonesian champ RRQ Hoshi.

MPL-MYSG winner Todak of Malaysia is invited as well as Singaporean squads Resurgence and EVOS SG.

Also joining the fray are Burmese Ghouls of Myanmar, 10S Gaming Frost of Japan, Impunity KH of Cambodia, Unique Devu of Russia and DEAMMAX of Brazil.

The tournament bracket will be determined via a real-time online draw on Saturday, December 12.

With M2 being the first offline international esports event to be held in 2021, Moonton has reminded all invited to teams to abide by the protocols set for Covid-19 prevention.

A safety protocol handbook will be distributed to all the participants in a digital format before arrival and in hard copy upon landing on Singapore.

Considering the pandemic situation, the MLBB world championship was moved to Singapore after being first held in Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last November 2019.
