The beauty and elegance of the Filipina shines abroad after Roberta Angela "Ro-An" Tamondong was crowned Miss Eco Teen International in Egypt Saturday night (Sunday morning in the Philippines).

The Miss Eco Teen International crown is the first for the Philippines. Tamondong is also the first Filipino to win an international title at the height of the pandemic when most of the international competitions have been cancelled for next year.

This 5'9 stunner from Quezon City also won Best In National Costume during the finals.

Tamondong, 18, is a student from San Beda University in Manila. In previous pageants she won Binibining Quezon City and Mutya ng San Pablo 2019.

Other winners were South Africa, 1st runner-up; Netherlands, 2nd runner-up; Egypt, 3rd runner-up; and Paraguay, 4th runner-up.

Tamondong have impressed judges in the pre-pageant events for Miss Eco Teen International.She won Best Eco Dress, 1st runner-up at Beach Wear prime competition and 2nd runner-up talent competition.

Arnold Vegafria, national president of Miss World Philippines pageant, earlier said that Tamondong stood a good chance at winning the crown because of her performance during pre-pageant competitions.

"The Philippines's official candidate Roberta Angela 'Ro-An' Tamondong stands a very good chance at clinching the crown based on her outstanding performance during the pageant preliminaries from the past week.

"To date, the 18-year-old San Beda student wowed pageant critics and garnered a massive social media following not just because of her stunning glam photos, but also because of her wit, spunk and intelligence, and most importantly, her relevant environmental advocacies," said Vegafria on Facebook.
