Rebel returnee urges two solons to resign due to alleged links with Reds

A rebel returnee today said that two former and two current members of the alleged communist front Makabayan bloc should now resign from the House of Representatives.

Jeffrey Celiz, who had sported the alias ‘’La Eric’’or ‘’ka Victor’’ when he was with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP,) issued the challenge at the resumption of the in-person and virtual public hearing by Senate Panfilo M. Lacson, chairman of the Senate national defense and security committee, on the issue of ‘’red-tagging’’ of entertainment celebrities.

He identified the four as former Congressmen Neri Colmenare and Teodoro Casino, and current Representatives Carlos Isagani Zarate of Bayan Muna and Sarah Jane Elago of Kabataan.

Their stay in their elective posts is a waste of public funds and besmirch the integrity of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Celiz stressed that the testimonies and pieces of evidence they gathered during their stay at the NPA are proof that they are telling the truth.

‘’This is part of our redemption, he added.

Earlier, other rebel returnees tagged some militant organizations as fronts of the CPP/New People’s Army/National Democratic Front (CPP/NPA/NDF).

One of them earlier testified that the enemies of the State are at the House of Representatives.

Celiz said the representatives of the CPP/NDF are masked as ‘’party list’’ representatives at the Legislative branch who refuse to condemn the atrocities of NPA.

Any form of violence is a crime, he added.

Red tagging is an invention of the CPP/NPA/ND, Celiz said.

Celiz said the 50-yeaer-old communist insurgency is colored by blood with 50,000 dead due to unending violence.

The aim of CPP is to bring the government to its knees by using front organizations, he stressed.
