Sinas begins major PNP revamp


Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Debold Sinas has started a massive revamp in the police force, including key positions in Metro Manila and regional offices that affected 27 senior police officials.

Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, the current district director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was named as the new director of the Police Regional Office 7, or Central Visayas. He replaced Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro who was designated to lead the Directorate for Information and Communication Technology (DICTM).

Ferro’s new position is expected to earn him his second star. He will replace Maj. Gen. Celso Pestaño who was re-assigned to the Office of the Chief PNP.

Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda, currently the district director of the Manila Police District (MPD), was named as the new regional director of the Western Visayas, replacing Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan who was appointed as the deputy director of the Directorate for Plans.

Montejo will be replaced by Brig. Gen.  Danilo Macerin as the QCPD director while the MPD will be taken over by Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco.

Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz was named as the new district director of the Northern Police District covering Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela.

Brig. Gen. Ronald Evangelista was designated as the new director of the Police Regional Office 9. He will replace Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay who was designated as the deputy director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations for Southern Luzon.

Brig. Gen. Florencio Ortilla was designated as the number two man of the  National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), being the deputy director for Administration, while Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra was designated as the NCRPO deputy regional director for Operations.

Former PNP spokesman Col. Ysmael Yu was designated as Deputy Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 4A, which has jurisdiction over Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.

Brig. Gen. Walter Escalante Castillejos was named the new Director for Plans while Brig. Gen. Alexander Sampaga as the new head of the Center for Police Strategy Management Office. Col. Rommel Marbil was designated as the executive officer of the Directorate for Plans.

Brig. Gen. Herminio Tadeo was named deputy director of the Directorate for Human Resources and Doctrine Development while Brig. Gen. Armando de Leon as deputy director of the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology (DICTM).

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Olay was named as the deputy director of the Directorate for Operations while Brig. Gen. Conrado Gongon will head the Communications Electronic Service.

Col. Arcadio Jamora, Jr.  was named acting Commandant of Cadets of the PNP Academy in Silang, Cavite while Col. Jose Santiago Jr. will be the executive officer of the DIPO for Western Mindanao.

Col. Narciso Domingo was named deputy director for Operations of  Police Regional Office 3 while Col. Juan Añonuevo is now the executive officer of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations for Northern Luzon.
