CAGAYAN – Residents living in low-lying areas here were advised Sunday morning to take the necessary precautions after it was observed that the Cagayan River was swelling anew to above alarm level.
Some residents have even evacuated Saturday night for fear of floods reminiscent of the deluge that overwhelmed the province only two weeks ago.
Hydrological forecast for the Cagayan River Basin, PAGASA said flooding was threatening Lower Cagayan River and its tributaries Pinacanauan de Tuguegarao, Chico, Pared and Dummun.
With the continuous rains, the water level at Lower Cagayan River is expected to rise.
Among the low-lying areas, which are under threat of floods anew, are Enrile, Solana, Iguig, Amulung, Alcala,Penablanca, Tuguegarao City, Baggao, Lasam, Camalaniugan Aparri,Gattaran, and Lallo.
