Musicians appeal to fans: Stop posting photos of Jamir Garcia’s remains


Several musicians are enraged with some fans spreading photos of deceased rock star Jamir Garcia’s remains hours after his death.

Electro-pop band Brisom called out those responsible to cease sharing the said photos in a tweet.

“This is a very sad day for our local music scene. Rest in peace to one of our musical heroes, Jamir Garcia of Slapshock. We are humbly asking everyone to stop sharing his photo, have some decency and respect to his family,” the band said.

Joining in on the call is bassist Raisa Celis of the band Sud.

She posted: “STOP F***ING SHARING JAMIR’S MORGUE PHOTO U SICK F***ERS.”

Meanwhile, Teddy Corpuz, appealed: “If it’s not too much to ask, can you guys stop spreading Jamir’s  photo. I know your intentions are good for posting and sending out your condolences pero respeto na lang natin lahat sana kay Jamir at sa mga naiwan niya.”

The local music industry mourned the late singer via social media hours after his death.

Among those who expressed their condolences were Ogie Alcasid, Kean Cipriano, Chito Miranda, Jugs Jugueta, Medwin Marfil, Arci Muñoz, and Rico Blanco.
