Officials and technical teams of both agencies conducted a coordination meeting to discuss best practices, practical and resilient capabilities, and innovative development programs of the DPWH to complement the department’s goals and visions in providing high quality infrastructure.

The meeting was presided over by DPWH Undersecretary for Technical Services Maximo Carvajal.

According to Carvajal, the 355th Aviation Engineer Wing, which is mandated to provide general engineering services to Philippine Air Force and contribute to the government's national development programs, requested the consultation meeting in recognition of the department’s experience as the engineering and construction arm of the government.

“DPWH is committed to support and assist the Philippien Air Force in their endeavor to build high-standard and modern facilities especially in geographically-disadvantaged areas during humanitarian assistance and disaster response,” Carvajal said.

Three bureaus from the DPWH and a seven-man team from the Air Force attended the meeting.

Bureau of Construction Director Eric Ayapana, Bureau of Design (BOD) Director Aristarco Doroy, Bureau of Quality and Safety Director Medmier Malig and other technical staff from the department shared their expertise identified as crucial to Air Force’s future projects.

A seven-man team from the Philippine Air Force 355th Aviation Engineer Wing Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board (MSAB) headed by Lieutenant Colonel Arcis Obedencio, on the other hand, represented the Air Force.
