DFA reports 19 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday recorded 19 new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and 4 new recoveries among Filipinos abroad.

No new COVID-19 fatality was confirmed based on reports received from countries in Asia and the Pacific region.

To date, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and recoveries are 11,592 and 7,496, respectively.

The Middle East and Africa remain as the combined region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos with 7,535, followed by the Asia and the Pacific with 1,914; Europe, 1,313, and the Americas, 830.

Towards the last week of November, the DFA continues to repatriate distressed and stranded overseas Filipinos from Saudi Arabia (502), Djibouti (9), United Arab Emirates (254), Brunei (5), China (2), and Israel (18). 

“The DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of overseas Filipinos and stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” the department said in a statement.
