Robredo partner’s donation drive raises over P60-M

Vice President Leni Robredo has released the latest updates on her office’s relief efforts for typhoon victims, including being able to raise P65.2 million worth of cash donations from a partner organization.

The amount raised through the donation drive by Kaya Natin Movement for Good Governance and Leadership will boost Robredo’s assistance to those affected by Ulysses and another typhoon before it.

Robredo, in a Facebook post, said this does not include the in-kind donations her office received from private individuals and groups.

“The figures are just the total cash donations sent to Kaya Natin,” she said. “This just means we would be able to help more communities.”

The vice president has been making sure that every donation sent to her office is accounted for by posting it on her Facebook page.

Cash and in-kind donations to Robredo’s office and Kaya Natin significantly increased since President Duterte’s speech laden with insults and false claims against the vice president.

“We post daily updates on our official FB page on where your donations went plus pictures and videos so you will have an idea of how it is in these communities,” she said.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) reported it has brought 36,334 relief packs, 101,450 nipa shingles, and 20,321 bottled water to the typhoon-hit provinces of Cagayan, Rizal, and Isabela.

Additionally, 19,115 hotmeals, 7,620 loaves of bread, 6,976 coco lumber, 3,795 blankets, and 2,497 mattresses, among other relief items, were also distributed to these affected areas.
