Quibors Boxing gets clearance for Laguna event

After separate events in Visayas and Mindanao, it’s now the turn of Luzon to take center stage for a restart with a four-card fight by Quibors Boxing Promotion on Dec. 6 in Rizal, Laguna.

Quibors Boxing manager and promoter Gerry Balmes said Wednesday that they already secured permission from the local government unit (LGU) officials to stage an event.

“We are ready, and we are excited to finally have this event,” said Balmes.

The boxing outfit is staging the restart of professional boxing in Luzon with the support of City Mayor Vener Munoz and Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra.

Four boxers of Quibors Stable will see action in the four-card fight event, which includes veteran campaigner Ar-Ar Andales, Jerome Baloro, Jericho Gatchalian and Reynold Vargas.

Andales will battle Sandre Paderan of Jab Straight Stable, Baloro clashes against Mark Jequinto of Berwela Stable, Gatchalian meets Jumari Mansueto of Onyok Stable and Vargas faces Michael Sarili of Muntinlupa City Stable.

GAB chairman Baham Mitra said he appreciates the effort of Quibors to push through with the event after successful staging in Visayas and Mindanao by two other local promotions.

“We appreciate the effort of team Quibors for promoting the first boxing restart in Luzon,” said Mitra.
