K-pop superstars BTS’ ultimate wish came through—to be nominated for a Grammy.

The Recording Academy announced on Nov. 24 (Nov. 25 in the Philippines) the nominees for the 63rd Grammy Awards, which will be held on Jan. 31 next year.

BTS have been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song “Dynamite.”

Other nominees in the category are “Un Dia (One Day)” by J Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny & Tainy; “Intentions” by Justin Bieber Featuring Quavo; “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande’; and “Exile” by Taylor Swift Featuring Bon Iver.

During the press conference for their album “BE” last Nov. 20, BTS said they were hoping that they would get a Grammy nomination.

“We are very nervous. We are waiting for the 25th as well. It will be amazing if we are nominated. I think it will be announced early in the morning. We will probably be awake and waiting for that. I hope there will be amazing news,” said RM.

When asked what they wanted, Jin said, “To be honest, it would be at the Grammys. We reached the top spot on Hot 100. That was amazing. That was an incredible honor. The nominations will be coming out soon and we hope that our name will be called in that nomination.”

This is the first time that BTS got nominated for a Grammy for their music. At the 61st Grammy Awards held in February 2019, BTS’ album “Love Yourself: Tear” was nominated in the craft category Best Recording Package (including album cover, graphic arts and photography) courtesy of Doohee Lee, art director.

BTS performed at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards held last Jan. 26 as part of the “Grammy Moments.”

For the 63rd Grammy Awards, product eligibility period is from Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2020.

“As the only peer-recognized music award, the GRAMMY is the music industry’s highest honor. This means GRAMMY nominations and winners are determined by the music professionals who are voting members of the Recording Academy,” according to the Grammy website.
