Welcome back Xiumin!

According to a report by Soompi on Nov. 23, SM Entertainment issued a statement which read: "Xiumin is currently on a final leave and will be discharged on December 6 without returning to the base. This is in accordance with the instructions aimed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. There will be no separate discharge event."

All able-bodied men in South Korea aged between 18 and 28 must serve in the military for roughly two years as part of the country's defenses against North Korea in accordance with their law.

Xiumin, 30, joined the military in 2019. He did not just undergo training but also participated in "Return: The Promise of the Day" musical within the troops.

Eldest among his peers, Xiumin will be the first member to complete his military enlistment.

Fellow EXO members Suho and Chen enlisted this May and October respectively, with D.O. who joined in July to complete his duties in January 2021.
