Cha-Cha Cañete drops holiday song 'Pasko Pa Rin'

Former Goin' Bulilit star Cha-Cha Canete has just released a Christmas song entitled “Pasko Pa Rin” under Star Music which can now be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer!

Cha-Cha is a music international competition winner at the 2014 Europop in Berlin Germany and 2013 World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California.

Netizens and members of the press refer to Cha-Cha’s voice quality as similar to Popstar Sarah G and Janella Salvador. The young singer blushed upon reading these and is grateful to have this platform to showcase her talents.

The song, beautifully penned by multi-awarded composer Jungee Marcelo, is an upbeat and danceable, yet sentimental song that asks, “Pass muna ba sa Pasko?” with the pandemic that we have right now, or Christmas would still be Christmas, since “Pasko ay Pasko Pa Rin.”

The song’s music video is also a delight to watch, as it has a visually-exciting treatment with its graphics-oriented theme, and will surely hold the interest of the viewers on its entirety.

The music video was shot in chroma supported by visual effects, and was directed by Tofie Runas of Batcave Prod. Some celebrities also supported the music video by joining the scenes of video conference greetings, with most of us (Filipinos) would only be able to celebrate this year’s Christmas not by the traditional means of being together with our family and loved ones, but only by digital means, like video conferencing.

In 2012, Cha-Cha released her very first single, “Bakit o Bakit” when she was seven years old and the album consistently landed in the Top 10 of the Astro Vision charts for several weeks.

In 2017, Cha-Cha appeared on the Wish Bus with her performance of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song”, which trended and went viral, and also won for her Bronze Wishclusive Elite Circle (more than 10 million views), in the Wish 107.5 Awards.

In 2018, she was invited to represent the Philippines in the ChildAid Asia Malaysia concert, whose thrust is to helping underprivileged children across Asia.

She also represented the Philippines in the Model United Nations Camp held in Seoul, Korea in 2015 for winning the National Eye Level Video Speech Competition.

In the said camp, she also won the “Best in Talent Award”, performing a song number that truly delighted the academe crowd and delegates around the world. She is scheduled to release her next single in the first quarter of 2021.
