LRMC launching LRT1 Bayad Center

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) partnered with outsourced payment collection pioneer, Bayad Center, to enable passengers to pay over 300 types of bills as they travel through the LRT-1 network.

The partnership makes bills payment easier and more accessible so LRT-1 commuters can pay their utilities, telecommunications and cable providers as well as government contributions, loans, and airline tickets as they go through the stations.

LRT-1 Balintawak station will be the pilot site for the Bayad Center sa LRT-1.

A ticket booth will be transformed into a Bayad Center lane where commuters can pay their bills.

The Bayad Center sa LRT-1 at Balintawak Station will open to the public next month, December , 2020.

Bill payments can be made daily from 6AM to 7PM, but only cash payments can be accepted for the meantime.

LRMC and Bayad Center made their partnership official in a virtual signing ceremony of their Memorandum of Agreement this Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

"We are glad to launch this initiative as it is in line with our goal to make the LRT-1 network a one-stop shop for our commuters’ needs," remarked LRMC President and CEO Juan F. Alfonso.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with LRMC in providing a more convenient payment option to our Filipino commuters," remarked Lawrence Y. Ferrer, CEO and President of Bayad Center.

"As we add more and more payment touchpoints for the public, this lessens their visit to several establishments for errands, minimizing the risk of virus contact," he pointed out.

Bayad Center plans to scale up its operations so it will be available in all LRT 1 train stations soon.

Future plans include the roll-out of Bayad Center sa LRT-1 in other major stations such as EDSA, Gil Puyat, and Doroteo Jose, as well as stations close to residential areas.
