Lea Salonga reacts on module associating tattoos with criminals

Tony Award winner Lea Salonga is fuming, having seen a learning module that said tattoos are symbolic to being a criminal.

She posted a screenshot of the same, writing, "Okay, someone would need to tell me if this thing is really ok’d by the DepEd. And if so, WHAT KIND OF BS IS THIS???"

"(For the love of God...) I am THIS CLOSE to getting a tattoo, if only to prove a point," Lea wrote.

She went on to ask followers if they could upload a photo of the full, unedited sheet for context.

"That whole LETTER A thing covers the rest of it, and we need some context," she related.

An online user said the issue is not about tattoos or tribes but the manner by which the question as with the choices given as answer were laid out.

"The formulation of the question and choices are wrong. WHY? There is no absolute or correct answer since the topic is anchored on the subjective preference," the comment read.

This is not the first time that a learning module was discovered to contain erroneous concepts.

Only a few days ago, a screenshot of a module from the Schools Division of Occidental Mindoro went viral right after it used actress Angel Locsin in describing an “obese person.”

The Department of Education has since apologized about it.
