Aicelle Santos and Mark Zambrano

Kapuso "Rock and Soul Diva" Aicelle Santos shared about her journey to motherhood while giving us a glimpse on her latest single "Dasal" in an online media conference Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Aicelle expressed how she and her husband, GMA News anchor Mark Zambrano, were excited for their baby.

"I am very, very excited to the point na (even) Mark wants the baby our now like everyday niyang sasabihin na "labas ka na anak, labas ka na" sabi ko: "hindi pa!" said Aicelle.

Asked about their recent 1st year anniversary as a couple, Santos explained how they were still discovering things about each other.

"It is still getting to know "you" kasi first time namin magkasama sa isang bubong and because of covid it's 24/7; you can't get rid of each other; It's an experience na marami 'kang matututunan about yourself & about your partner," said Aicelle

In regards to their daughter's name Zandrine, Mark explained the story behind it. "Zandrine came from "Sandrine" with an S, and yung Sandrine with an S came from the name Alexandria, which also came from the name Alexander which means "protector of men"  so medyo may Biblical (reference)."

"Protector of men; I think fits my daughter kasi nga yung mom niya is a very level-headed woman, very strong character, so feeling ko na-inherit niya," he added.

The soon-to-be mother also shared her concerns about the present times, and the realization that she had during quarantine.

"Pregnant women are hormonal and more emotional and tend to overthink; una siyempre, fear of getting COVID-19; because we don't know what the effects of COVID-19 would be in your baby.

"For me, yung first trimester was the most emotional time kasi nga dun mo nabalitaan na buntis ka and I think its the same for everyone, pregnant or not kasi March yun eh…ako I found out I was pregnant on April eh onset yun ng pandemic."

"You just pray and lift it all up to Him…"

Aicelle is really looking forward to raising her baby.

"I am looking forward to the day na I'm seeing her, lalabas na siya sa 'kin at mayayakap ko na siya…yung unang yakap na yun (oh my gosh) I'm telling you I will cry," she said.

Latest single 'Dasal'

The Traffic Diva (in reference to her segment in the popular noontime show "Eat Bulaga") shared the story behind her latest single "Dasal."

"This song is written by my friend, Kettle Mata so he is more of the brains and the soul of the song 'coz he wrote it so ako yung nag-interpret but I like the meaning of the song kasi tungkol ito sa isang pag-ibig na gusto 'mong mapasa-iyo ngunit hindi mo makamit and you have to pray frequently para mapasa-iyo."

She also said that she likes the melody of the song that is perfect for reminiscing.
