Applications are open for a scholarship to Pisay's Cordillera Administrative Region campus
Every Filipino elementary student probably has three things on their mind on a regular basis: saving recess baon money to buy French fries on the way home, when and where the field trip is going to be, and getting into Philippine Science High School (PSHS).
Many students believe PSHS is a gateway to a great university, and, with hope, a great future. It becomes the talk of the town once applications resume for those graduating every third quarter of the year. For incoming high school students from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), luck is on your side as the PSHS CAR Campus is now looking for scholars that fit the real PISAY spirit.
So, what does it take to apply?
A grade six elementary pupil from a duly recognized school by DepEd must:
- Be a Filipino citizen with no pending or approved application to immigrate to any foreign country;
- Have a final grade of 85 percent or better in science and math, but if the student's grades in science or math are below 85 percent, then they must provide evidence that they belong to the upper 10 percent of their batch;
- Have a satisfactory character rating in their report card for SY 2019 - 2020;
- Have not have taken the PSHS National Competitive Exam (NCE) previously; and
- Preferably, be in good health and fit to undergo a rigorous academic program.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in applying, make sure they get the following ready to submit:
- Fully accomplished application form, which is available at www.pshs.edu.ph;
- Two (2) identical 1x1 identification photo;
- A certified true copy of their report card for SY 2019 - 2020; and
- If their grades in science or math are below 85 percent, then certification to show that they belong to the upper 10 percent of their batch.
Submit your applications on or before Dec. 11 if you are a private school applicant, and Dec. 18 if you are a public school applicant.
