PH clinches 3 winners in World Spa Awards


This year’s World Spa Awards has recognized the best spa and wellness brands worldwide, with three winners from the Philippines.

In its 6th edition, World Spa Awards named Conrad Spa Manila,  Aman Spa in the luxury island destination Amanpulo, and the Farm at San Benito in Lipa City, Batangas as the Philippines’ Best Hotel Spa, Best Resort Spa, and Best Wellness Retreat, respectively.

Conrad Spa also won the same award last year, and bested other famous luxury hotel spas in the country such as Chi, The Spa at Edsa Shangri-la Manila, The Peninsula Manila Spa at The Peninsula Manila, and Willow Stream Spa at Raffles Manila. 

Aman Spa also won the same award in 2016, while holistic medical wellness resort The Farm at San Benito managed by CG Hospitality The Farm added the prestigious accolade to its growing number of recognitions. It was recognized Best Medical Wellness Resort by SENSES Germany in 2012 and 2013 and also won Connections Award at LUXPERIENCE 2018, Best Wellness Resort in Southeast Asia at the Asian Lifestyle Tourism Award 2018, and World Luxury Hotel Awards in the past years. 

Meanwhile, for the world category, the award-giving body announced last Oct. 28 brands to lift top honors include Gstaad Palace in Switzerland as World’s Best Hotel Spa, Lanserhof Tegernsee in Germany as World’s Best Medical Spa, and doTERRA as World’s Best Aromatherapy Brand. While the minimal opulence of Utah’s Amangiri led to its acknowledgement as World’s Best Desert Spa. 
Thailand’s luxury hotel spa Anantara also emerged as one of the big winners by taking the title for World’s Best Hotel Spa, at the same time, the cutting-edge facilities of Switzerland’s Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa was recognized in the World’s Best Spa Design category.

Dubai cemented its reputation as the destination with it all by collecting the title for World’s Best Spa Destination 

In the newcomer categories, Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como, Italy was named World’s Best New Hotel Spa; Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti, Italy was voted World’s Best New Resort Spa, while Qatar’s Zulal Wellness Resort was crowned World’s Best New Wellness Retreat.

“Our winners represent the very best of the best in the global spa and wellness sector and my congratulations to each of them. They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges,” Rebecca Cohen, managing director of World Spa Awards, said.  

The announcement follows a year-long search for the world’s top spa and wellness brands. 

Votes were cast by professionals working in the spa and wellness industry and by spa tourism consumers.
