Ipo Dam’s water level continues to rise


The water level in Ipo Dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan continues to rise. Based on the Hydrological Dam Situationer for Ipo Dam released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the water level of the dam as of 2:00 a.m. is at 101.92 meters.

Hours before, the water level of the dam was at 101.84 meters. Based on the situationer, the water level is "expected to rise due to rainfall induced by Typhoon Ulysses." 

"Ipo Dam Management continuously conduct spilling operation at 2:00 a.m. with increase total discharge of 626.66 cubic meters," it read. The dam's spilling level is at 101 meters.

PAGASA advised residents living along the low-lying areas and those near the of river bank of Angat River from Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel and Hagonoy to be alert for possible flood or flashflood.

The PAGASA and Dam Management said they shall continue to monitor the hydrological condition of IPO Dam.
