Destructive typhoon “Ulysses” (international name: “Vamco”) will soon be retired by the state weather bureau from its list of tropical cyclone names after leaving massive damage to infrastructure and agriculture in the country.

8:00 a.m., Nov. 13:

"Ulysses" re-intensified from a severe tropical storm to a typhoon before leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility Friday.

Ulysses briefly weakened into a severe tropical storm before dawn Friday but re-intensified into a typhoon at 8 a.m. with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph and moving west-northwest at 10 kph towards central Vietnam.

Expect gradual improvement in weather condition over areas affected by typhoon "Ulysses" in the next few days, as the cyclone is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Friday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

At least 23 people died while 16 others were reported missing as typhoon ‘Ulysses’ triggered massive flooding in Metro Manila and various parts of Luzon on Thursday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.

Typhoon "Ulysses" is now over the West Philippine Sea, leaving a massive trail of destruction across many areas in Luzon, including Metro Manila.

As of 10 a.m., Thursday, the center of the eye of "Ulysses" was at 85 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales, and maintained its maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The Magat Dam in Isabela province, Ipo Dam in Bulacan, and Binga and Ambuklao dams in Benguet province have started opening its gates to discharge excess water.

4 a.m., Nov. 12:

PAGASA reports that the center of the eye of Typhoon 'Ulysses' was located in the vicinity of San Antonio, Nueva Ecija.

Marikina River’s water level reached third alarm early Thursday morning, as Typhoon “Ulysses” continues to bring heavy rains and strong winds over Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Typhoon "Ulysses" (international name "Vamco") has made its third landfall in the vicinity of General Nakar, Quezon at 1:40 A.M.

PAGASA said as of 1 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "Ulysses" was estimated at 30 km North of Infanta, Quezon and at 1:40 a.m. was located in the vicinity of General Nakar, Quezon.

Ulysses has made landfall over Patnanungan, Quezon according to PAGASA

8 p.m., Nov. 11:

- Office of Civil Defense-Bicol reports 1 dead, 3 missing in Camarines Norte

- PAGASA said destructive winds and torrential rainfall will be experienced in northern Camarines Norte. The same will be experienced tonight until early Thursday morning in Aurora and northern Quezon.

Ulysses is seen to further intensify as it nears landfall over Calaguas Islands in Camarines Norte within three hours or over Polillo Islands and mainland Quezon province between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 2 a.m. on Thursday and between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., respectively.
