PBA teams undergo fourth swab test

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY--As part of the stringent protocols to keep the safety in the bubble, the entire PBA delegation underwent another cycle of mandatory swab testing on Tuesday at the Quest Hotel.

Players, coaches and utility members of all the 12 teams went through a fourth round of real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing which was done throughout the day.

TNT, Rain or Shine, San Miguel and NorthPort, which are scheduled to figure in the day's double-header, were the first teams to undergo the procedure.

The testing was administered ahead of the final day of eliminations on Nov. 11 after which four teams will exit the bubble.

Also having their fourth swab test inside the well-contained zone are the referees.

Meanwhile, league staff, members of the media and television broadcast crew had their third round of RT-PCR testing.

The bubble remained intact as the over 350 delegates tested negative on the previous cycle, a week after the league was rocked by two "false positive" cases.

The swab testing is done every two weeks to ensure the safety and integrity of the bubble, the first of its kind in the country
